Taipei MRT Attractions Map
Taipei MRT Red Line Attractions
Firstly, let us introduce the must-visit attractions along the Tamsui-Xinyi Line. If your chosen accommodation in Taipei is along the MRT Red Line, visiting the most iconic landmark in Taiwan is highly recommend, the ‘101 Building’. Take the high-speed elevator from the 5th floor, and in just 37 seconds, you’ll reach the 89th floor observatory. From a height of 388 meters, you can overlook the entire Taipei city, making it the highest and most dreamy spot to snap a photo. During the day, experience a real-life version of a miniature city, and at night, admire the brightly lit Taipei skyline, immersing yourself in the atmosphere of urban life in Greater Taipei! Due to the crowds on holidays, by using the Taipei FunPass, you can reserve your entry time slot and tap your card for entry without queuing for tickets, saving time and hassle!
Taipei 101 Observatory (Recommended Stay: 2 Hours)
Next, take the MRT Red Line towards Tamsui, and alight at Jiantan Station, Exit 3. Transfer to bus routes 41, Red 30, Taipei Children’s Amusement Park 2, or 529 (not in service on holidays), and after a one-minute walk, you’ll arrive at the ‘Taipei Children’s Amusement Park’! For detailed transportation information, you can check the Taipei Children’s Amusement Park bus dynamic information. Besides being a place of nostalgia for many adults, it’s also one of the must-visit amusement parks for school field trips and graduation trips.
Taipei Children’s Amusement Park (Recommended Stay: 2 Hours)
After some dynamic activities, it’s time to take a break and enjoy some tranquility. Walking for one minute from Taipei Children’s Amusement Park is recommended, then taking bus Red 30, which will directly take you to the ‘National Palace Museum’, known as the ‘Treasure House of Chinese Culture’. This is the largest museum in Taiwan! With approximately 650,000 artifacts spanning over 5,000 years of history, it’s a must-visit for first-time Taipei travelers. Be sure to see the National Palace Museum’s three treasures: the Jadeite Cabbage, the Meat-shaped Stone, and the Mao Gong Ding.
The National Palace Museum Guidebook (Recommended Stay: 2 Hours)
If you are more interested in flower seasons, you can choose to get off the bus early at Chiang Kai-Shek Shilin Residence. The Shilin Residence has exquisite garden landscaping where you can enjoy free flower exhibitions. You can also purchase tickets to visit the main building of the Shilin Residence, an historic site, to explore the former residence of President Chiang Kai-shek. It perfectly combines natural and cultural features.
Shilin Night Market (Recommended Stay: 2.5 Hours)
To wrap up your last day of touring, head to the popular food haven ‘Shilin Night Market’, a must-visit spot for both domestic and international tourists. Enjoy a hearty meal here, and take the MRT to Jiantan Station, Exit 1. In addition to a wide variety of delicious snacks and cuisines, you can also find clothing, household goods, and souvenirs. Almost anything you want to buy can be found here, making it a one-stop shopping destination!
Taipei MRT Brown Line Attractions
When it comes to popular family outings on the Wenhu Line, the main highlights are the Taipei Zoo and the Maokong Gondola. It’s super convenient to take the Taipei MRT. Just take the Wenhu Line to the terminal station ‘Zoo Station’, and it’s only a 3-5 minute walk after exiting from Exit 1! Because Taipei Zoo is really huge, if you feel tired halfway through the visit, you can choose to use cash or an EasyCard to take the ‘Zoo Shuttle Train’, which will take you directly to the Bird Park, making it easy and convenient!
Taipei Zoo (Recommended Stay: 4 Hours)
If you’ve explored the entire zoo and want to take the Maokong Gondola up to Maokong, there’s also a shuttle from the Bird Park to the Zoo South Station. The train conductor will take you directly to the Maokong Gondola South Station, which is super convenient! If you want to ride in the transparent crystal cabin called the ‘Maokong Eye’, remember to join the queue for the crystal cabin!
Maokong Gondola (Recommended Stay: 2 Hours)
For this Taipei trip, Fun Planner used the ‘Taipei FunPASS Unlimited’. The new version released in 2024 includes a complimentary ‘Maokong Tea Experience’. This allows visitors to send Tieguanyin tea to family and friends or themselves while at Maokong. After writing down their thoughts and sealing them with a package of Tieguanyin tea in a special postcard envelope, recipients can feel the joy and thoughtfulness of the trip. It’s quite a worthwhile experience, and the best part is you don’t need to buy postcards separately; everything is included in the complimentary experience! Very convenient!
Maokong Tea Experience (Recommended Stay: 1 Hour)
Maokong Small-Sealed Tea Experience Address: Maokong Redwood House │ No. 33, Lane 38, Section 3, Zhinan Road, Wenshan District, Taipei City (Click for navigation) With the Taipei FunPass: Present your card to the staff at the entrance to exchange for the experience.
Tonghua Night Market/Linjiang Night Market (Recommended Stay: 2 Hours)
In the evening, satisfy your hunger at the ‘Tonghua Night Market’, located near the MRT Liuzhangli Station. The official name of this night market is ‘Linjiang Street Tourist Night Market’. Although small in size, it offers a wide variety of options. At night, the roadside vendors transform into a food paradise. Here, you can shop, play games, buy clothes, and indulge in delicious food all in one place.
Taipei MRT Blue Line Attractions
The Bannan Line itinerary route focuses on a youthful and trendy vibe. Fun Planner highly recommends visiting the ‘Taipei Pop Music Center’, just a 5-8 minute walk from Kunyang Station Exit 4. If you’re a fan of Taiwanese pop music, don’t miss the ‘Sing Our Songs’ pop music story exhibition, featuring singers like Jay Chou, SHE, Lo Ta-yu, Mayday, JJ Lin, and F.I.R., who have accompanied us through the years. Follow the rhythm of the pop music and immerse yourself in the dynamic visual scenery that takes you back in time. I watched it twice!
Taipei Music Center (Recommended Stay: 1.5 Hours)
After visiting the exhibition, take the MRT Blue Line towards Dingpu Station. You will pass through ‘City Hall Station’, where you can exit from Exit 1 or Exit 2 and walk approximately 400 meters to the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. Alternatively, you can choose to exit from Exit 1 of ‘Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station’ and walk about 3-5 minutes to the Huashan 1914 Creative Park. These places host various cultural and creative markets, street performances, bookstores, and more. They are popular spots for shopping and browsing, often featuring different themed free and paid exhibitions. You can also find unique restaurants and snacks nearby, making it a rich and fulfilling experience. Many first-time visitors leave with bags full of treasures.
Songshan Cultural and Creative Park (Recommended Stay: 2 Hours)
After exploring the cultural and creative park, you’ll surely still want more fun! Let’s continue our adventure! Take the Taipei MRT Bannan Line to ‘Longshan Temple Station’, Exit 1. Longshan Temple, with over 200 years of history, is famous for its highly efficacious Matchmaker Deity. If you’re looking to find love, be sure to ask the Matchmaker Deity for assistance! And if your wish comes true, don’t forget to return to express your gratitude!
Bopiliao Historic Block (Recommended Stay: 1 Hour)
After visiting Longshan Temple, you can walk for about 4 minutes to the filming location of the movie ‘Monga’, known as the ‘Bopiliao Old Street’. It exudes a strong retro atmosphere. Along this relatively short street, you can see Qing Dynasty-style Minnan architecture, wooden doors and windows from the Japanese colonial period, Baroque decorations, as well as colorful paintings and movie billboards from the Republic of China era. Besides being a popular spot for Instagram-worthy photos, there are also many delicious Taipei cuisines to savor.
Ximending (Recommended Stay: 2.5 Hours)
Do you know where this is? Take the Bannan Line and exit from Exit 6 of Ximen Station, and you’ll arrive at Ximending! As soon as you step out, you’ll see the Rainbow Walkway, recently dubbed as ‘Rainbow 6’. It’s a hotspot where young people gather to dance K-pop and shoot cover MVs. There’s also the Red House, Movie Street, KTV, Wannian Building, trendy fashion, autograph sessions, street performances, and more. It’s one of the favorite hangout spots for young people on weekends, especially recommended to visit in the evening when it gets more beautiful.
When you’re at the must-visit Taipei attraction – Ximending, don’t forget that with the 2024 revised version of the ‘Taipei FunPASS Unlimited’, you can exchange for the exclusive souvenir ‘Taiwan Dragon Tiger Night Market Cup’ for free at the Ximending Visitor Center. Whether you bring it home for family and friends or enjoy a Taiwan beer directly from it, it’s super chill~~

Taipei MRT Green Line Attractions
If you’re still not satisfied with Taipei’s free-spirited route, trying out the Taipei MRT Green Line attractions is recommended. The first stop, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, is located at Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall Station. Regardless of the angle you view it from, it’s magnificent and grand. It’s a place that combines history, performances, and artistic vibes. Foreign tourists visiting Taiwan must come here for a visit.
Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall (Recommended Stay: 1 Hour)
After exploring the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, continue your journey by taking the Songshan-Xindian Line towards Songshan direction and alight at ‘Beimen Station’. From there, it’s about a 5-minute walk to reach the historic area of Dadaocheng, specifically the entrance to the southern section of Dihua Street. Here, you’ll find red brick buildings and retro streets. Not only can you enjoy the delicacies of Dihua Street, but if you visit in the evening, you can also admire the Taipei sunset from the Dadaocheng Wharf Container Market.
Dihua Street (Recommended Stay: 2 Hours)
Dadaocheng Wharf Container Market (Recommended Stay: 1.5 Hours)
After enjoying the delicious food in Dadaocheng, you can stroll through the Zhongshan Shopping District, a popular shopping area for young people near Zhongshan Station. There are many clothing stores organized by color scheme, with a youthful and trendy style, making it a shopping paradise for young girls. Besides clothing stores, there are also fragrance specialty shops, markets, and restaurants. If you’re not satisfied with your shopping spree, there’s also Eslite Bookstore and Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store nearby.
Recently, the trendy Chifeng Street, which is located between Taipei MRT Zhongshan Station and Shuanglian Station, has gained popularity on platforms like Xiaohongshu (Red) for its many coffee shops and unique specialty stores. Chifeng Street combines elements of retro and modern, attracting many people to shop and enjoy afternoon tea in this area, making it one of Taipei’s favorite spots for shopping and relaxation.
Taipei Zhongshan Shopping District (Recommended Stay: 2 Hours)
Feeling tired after a day of shopping in Taipei? I recommend indulging in some leisurely activities. Take the Green Line and alight at Songjiang Nanjing Station, Exit 4 or 5. From there, it’s about a 5-minute walk to the exquisite miniature art exhibition, the ‘Miniatures Museum of Taiwan’. It’s perfect for families to appreciate together. Step into dreamy European art scenes and explore the motto ‘Small World, Big Surprises’. They even showcase the world’s smallest television here!
Miniatures Museum of Taiwan (Recommended Stay: 1 Hour)
Finally, head to Raohe Night Market for dinner, located at Exit 1 of Songshan Station! Raohe Night Market stretches about 600 meters, packed with food stalls and shops selling various delicacies. You’ll find vendors selling clothing, accessories, and daily necessities as well. Additionally, there are regular performances of traditional arts and crafts, making it one of Taipei’s most popular night markets.
Raohe Night Market (Recommended Stay: 2.5 Hours)
Taipei MRT Orange Line Attractions
I personally find the Taipei MRT Orange Line to be a very laid-back route for Taipei sightseeing. There are plenty of attractions without feeling too exhausting, making it suitable even for accompanying elderly family members. Starting at ‘Xingtian Temple’, you can take the Taiwan Railway to Taipei Main Station, then transfer to the Zhonghe-Xinlu Line of the MRT and alight at Xingtian Temple Station, Exit 3. This temple primarily worships Guan Gong, where worshippers not only come to pray and seek blessings, but also avail themselves of the free spirit-calming services, ensuring a peaceful and stable mind.
Xingtian Temple (Recommended Stay: 1 Hour)
After visiting the Miniatures Museum of Taiwan as introduced earlier on the Taipei MRT Green Line, you might suddenly realize you haven’t bought any souvenirs yet! So, let’s continue our journey by taking the Zhonghe-Xinlu Line of the MRT to Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station, Exit 1. From there, it’s about a 3 to 5-minute walk to the Huashan 1914 Creative Park. On weekends, you’ll often find various themed free exhibitions, performances, and creative markets, making it a lively destination.
Huashan 1914 Creative Park (Recommended Stay: 2 Hours)
After exploring, continue by taking the Zhonghe-Xinlu Line of the MRT to ‘Dingxi’ MRT Station. From there, it’s about a 10-minute walk to Lehua Night Market. Here, you’ll find many delicious budget-friendly eats beloved by locals. You can easily spend a couple of Hours here. If you’re visiting the night market, you can also try your luck at the recent trend of claw machines, or should I say, snack-catching machines, at places like ‘Claw Paradise’ or ‘Fun Park,’ which have become quite popular in Taiwan.
Lehua Night Market (Recommended Stay: 2.5 Hours)
Taipei Travel Recommendations│Tamsui Travel Routes
The special route which is to be introduced next is a bit farther from the Taipei city center. Let’s start with the attractions in Tamsui. Just a 4-minute walk from Tamsui Station is Tamsui Old Street. In addition to countless popular eateries, there are numerous scenic restaurants and cafes along the Tamsui River. It is a must-visit and a highly popular spot for many tourists.
Tamsui Long Wharf LB Cafe (Recommended Stay: 1 Hour)
For those who enjoy art and architecture, you can transfer to bus Red 26 or 836 at Tamsui MRT Station and get off at the “Tamsui Library” stop. From there, walk about 5 minutes along Zhenli Street to reach the newly opened “Wunden Yi Art Museum” in Tamsui. This contemporary art park, converted from a chalk-white Western-style building, offers the opportunity to admire century-old architecture. Every corner is highly photogenic! You can also wait for the beautiful Tamsui sunset in the evening.
Wu Dengyi Art Museum (Recommended Stay: 1 Hour)
After visiting the art museum, walk for 5 minutes to Fort San Domingo and take the Red 26 bus. Get off at Tamsui Fish Market Station and walk for another 3 minutes to reach Tamsui Lover’s Bridge. This pedestrian bridge at Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf is shaped like a sailboat. The wharf is filled with various boats and is a popular spot for couples. Visiting at dusk to watch the sunset from Lover’s Bridge is especially recommended for its stunning beauty.
Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf (Recommended Stay: 1 Hour)
Since you’re already in a romantic mood, let’s keep it going! The last stop can be Tamsui Lover’s Tower, which is a 12-minute walk from Lover’s Bridge. This is a must-visit and photo-worthy spot for couples in Taipei.

Taipei Travel Recommendations│Jiufen and Pingxi Travel Routes
The last special route I want to introduce is the most popular among Hong Kong and Korean tourists visiting Taiwan, especially Taipei. This route features Jiufen, which is often compared to the setting of the movie “Spirited Away”! The first stop is Yehliu Geopark. Take the Taipei MRT to Tamsui Station, then transfer to the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle 716 Crown Northern Coast Line to Yehliu Geopark. This park is famous for its Mars-like geological environment, with unique and diverse rock formations. The Queen’s Head rock formation, in particular, is a hot spot for photos and a must-visit for Instagram enthusiasts!
Yehliu Geopark (Recommended Stay: 1.5 Hours)
Traveling from Yehliu to Jinguashi is quite far and the route is complicated. If you don’t want to spend too much time on transportation, it is recommended to start your trip directly from Jinguashi. So, how do you get to Jinguashi?
- From Taipei, take a train to Ruifang Station. Walk about 100 meters to the plaza next to the Ruifang Police Station and take the Keelung Bus 788 to Jinguashi.
- If you want to go directly to Jiufen, you can take buses 788, 827, or 825 from the front station of Ruifang Train Station straight to Jiufen Old Street.
- For detailed Jiufen bus information, please refer to the official website.
Gold Museum (Recommended Stay: 1 Hour)
Upon arrival in Jinguashi, visiting the Golden Waterfall is recommended, Yin-Yang Sea, and the Gold Museum. The Gold Museum offers both informative exhibits, such as the Gold Hall, Alchemy House, and Metal Craft Museum, and experiential activities like exploring real mines and gold panning. After finishing your visit, you can take a bus from outside the Gold Museum to Keelung Train Station, and then get off at Jiufen Old Street Station.
Jiufen Old Street (Recommended Stay: 2.5 Hours)
When visiting Jiufen Old Street, make sure to try the must-eat delicacies. One of the most famous ones is Jiufen Ah Po Taro Balls. Just use Taipei FunPASS Unlimited to exchange for these at Lai Ah Po Taro Ball shop—it’s super convenient!
The texture of the taro balls is chewy, and the overall sweetness is not too strong! It’s a savior for girls who are afraid of gaining weight but love sweets. The shop is decorated in an old-fashioned style, giving it a nostalgic vibe that fits perfectly with the atmosphere of Jiufen Old Street.
Ah Po Taro Balls Free Redemption Address: No. 143, Jishan Street, Ruifang District, New Taipei City Redemption: Present your Taipei Unlimited Fun Pass at Lai Ah Po Taro Ball shop to redeem a bowl for free.
Pingxi Sky Lanterns (Recommended Stay: 2 Hours)

For this Taipei trip, simply use the Taipei Unlimited Fun Pass, which includes a one-day train ticket from Ruifang Station to Houtong, Shifen, Pingxi, and Jingtong. This is extremely convenient for travelers heading to Shifen to release sky lanterns. In addition to using the Pingxi train ticket to reach your destination, you’ll also receive a complimentary Pingxi sky lantern experience in Shifen. With this all-in-one “transportation + activity” package, everything is taken care of, making it truly amazing!
